Chuck Norris Award for Best Action Film 2008: I’ve gone with Taken with honourable mentions to Wanted and Death Race.
Jean-Claude Van Damme Award for Worst Action Film 2008: Rambo. By a mile. Absolute garbage. The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor is a distant 2nd tho.
Ray Harryhousen Award for Best Animated Film 2008: Wall-E, honourable mentions to Batman: Gotham Knight and Kung-Fu Panda.
Drama Llama Award for Best Dramatic Film 2008: Redbelt. I know it’s classified as action, but its a drama and it was uber. Honourable mention to The Dark Knight (another ‘action film’) Heath should win an Oscar for his performance as the Joker.
Chris Rock’s F***cking Award for Best Comedy 2008: Tropic Thunder. I laughed a lot at this. Honourable mention to You Don’t Mess With the Zohan.
David Letterman Award for Worst Comedy 2008: Get Smart. Anne Hathaway is hot, but even she couldn’t save this shit.
Stan Lee award for Best Comic Adaptation 2008: This was a hard one. The Dark Knight was brilliant, but Iron Man had a level of cool that was hard to compete with and The Incredible Hulk brought the character back to smashing life. In the end, I’m going with Iron Man, simply because it’s opening sequence used an AC/DC track. A great year for Comic films (Hellboy 2 was also pretty good), next year is looking even better (Watchmen, Wolverine, Captain America to name a few).
Oz’s Zombie Flick of 2008: Dance of the Dead, old-school style zombie gorefest at it’s finest.

Movie of the Year: call me gay all you like, but Wall-E was absolutely a mile in front of anything else this year.
