How long have you been playing?

I started in eve in Beta 6 and when the beta finished I was put into forced hiatus from the game for 2 weeks while I waited for the game to arrive from the UK. So pretty much from the start.

What drew you EVE in the first place?

I stumbled across the CCP/Eve website while I was searching for mods for Space Empires IV. Intrigued by what looked like an online version of that game, I signed up to the beta and eventually got accepted. I downloaded the client, loaded it up and then spent the next week locked in front of my PC only leaving when there was a down time or a random crash. Eve was like nothing I had ever seen. I still get that sense of awe now and then.

So, a dropbear didn’t actually attack me, just evil horrible viruses (virii?). My back started hurting the other day, it got progressively worse, and then Sunday night I was having trouble breathing. Monday morning I headed off to the doctor, he had a listen, got a weird look and sent me off to get a mask attached to my face and a mixture of oxygen and ventolin pumped into me. After about 10 minutes of that, he told me to take some drugs, and to go to a hospital if the lack of breathing got any worse. I laughed at his joke, he was serious.

After spending most of Monday laying around catching up on Family Guy episodes I hadn’t watched, I noticed that my breathing wasn’t getting any easier, and infact was actually now making an audible wheezing noise every time I exhaled. Apparently my breathing could get worse without me actually stopping breathing…

Well, since CCP has now opened up CSM to unlimited terms, I’ve nominated myself again. Some other names in the ppol this time include Mynxee and Roc Wieler – should be a fun campaign.
